Apple Classrooms of Tomorrow
Its mission was to advance the understanding of teaching and learning in global, connected communities of educators and learners. This included investigating how teaching and learning change when people have immediate access to technology as well as helping people better understand how technology can be an effective learning tool and a catalyst for change This study lasted thirteen years and produced profound insights into the effective use of technology in classrooms.

Educational Research and Dissemination Program
The American Federation of Teachers Educational Research and Dissemination (ER&D) Program is a union-sponsored, research-based professional development program. Development Program Grants
The application for the Early Childhood Educator Professional Development grant became available on April 24, 2001 from the U.S. Department of Education. The application deadline is June 25, 2001. Last year, Congress appropriated $10 million for one year for grants to provide professional development to early childhood educators who work in programs in urban or rural high-poverty communities and who serve primarily low income families. The professional development programs must provide research-based training to improve pedagogy and to further children's language and literacy skills.

School to Work
The School-to-Work Opportunities Act provides funds to States and local communities to develop School-to-Work systems. School-to-Work (STW) is a means of attaining high academic standards through contextual, applied, and focused learning. Learn more about this act in this ALI highlight!
