Jake B. Schrum was elected Southwestern University's 14th president on January 10, 2000. A 1968 graduate of Southwestern, he is the third alumnus president in the University's 160-year history. Schrum has been a college administrator for more than 27 years. Most recently, he served nine years as president of Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. He previously worked as an administrator at Yale University, Emory University, Southwestern University, and Muhlenberg College. President Schrum holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Southwestern and a Master of Divinity, begun at Southern Methodist University and completed at Yale University in 1973.
