Teaching Practice A Seed By Any Other Name ... ASSESSMENT
This UOP provided many opportunities to assess student growth and allowed the students to make the most of their individual talents. Parents and the students themselves were impressed with the display of knowledge and confidence at our presentations.
Calendars and journals were assessed through teacher observation and during group discussions. A rubric was used to present and then assess the plant cycle slide shows. The Fact/Fiction stories were reviewed for the completion of the steps in the Writing Process and scored with the Six-Trait Rubric. In all projects, I considered neatness, effort and the ability to share and cooperate with peers. Animations of plant growth were assessed for accuracy and creative effort.
