The Apple OS Help Desk curriculum has been developed in association with AppleCare, Apple Customer Training, TechSETS, and the New Workforce Center for Emerging Technologies (NWCET).
AppleCare
Customer support and student help desk lessons include materials used to prepare the industry-leading customer support team at Apple. Additional lessons were developed specifically for the OS Help Desk curriculum by the Apple Education team in collaboration with the AppleCare team.
Apple Customer Training
Mac OS skills units incorporate training modules developed by the Apple Customer Training group. These units prepare students for the Mac OS X Troubleshooting examination.
TechSETS
The OS Help Desk online ticket management system is provided by TechDESK, a resource developed by the Imperial County Office of Education for TechSETS. TechSETS is a collection of online resources for technical support professionals responsible for planning, installing, and maintaining technology in schools.
National Workforce Center for Emerging Technologies
As a National Science Foundation Advanced Technology Education (ATE) Center, NWCET works with partner educational institutions to help them deliver timely, accessible, and innovative solutions for information technology (IT) education. Apple has worked with NWCET to ensure that the OS Help Desk curriculum meets the NWCET requirements for a skills standards-based information technology curriculum. Customer support and troubleshooting skills in the OS Help Desk curriculum also correlate to technical support career skills standards developed by NWCET.
